Which of these company figureheads is not a real person?
…While Juan Valdez might sound like the name of a Colombian coffee grower, however his name is completely fictitious. He was invented by the Doyle Dane Bernbach ad agency in 1959, to appear in advertisements for the National Federation of the Coffee Growers of Colombia. Their goal was to help distinguish Colombian coffee from coffee grown in other countries. Valdez frequently appears on-screen alongside his trusty mule, Conchita, carrying sacks of coffee beans. Over the years, Valdez has been portrayed by actors José F. Duval, Carlos Sánchez, and, currently, a real coffee grower named Carlos Castañeda.

{Ans} Which of these company figureheads is not a real person?

Chef Boyardee was a real person. Ettore Boiardi was an Italian Italian immigrant who came to the United States at the age of 16 and took the name “Hector Boiardi” while passing through Ellis Island.

He worked in a variety of top restaurants in New York as a chef, eventually working until he reached Chef. At the age of 24, he moved to Cleveland and opened a restaurant with his wife.

He came up with the now famous brand name “Chef Boyardee”, which changes the spelling of his name into a phone call to help Americans pronounce his name correctly.
